“In 2018, one local district, Brooklyn’s District 15, switched to a lottery admissions system. That closely watched effort, heralded as one of the most substantial desegregation measures in years, will now be extended across the city.”  —NY Times

We are a group of parents and educators who worked to help reform the middle school placement process in Brooklyn’s District 15. We advocated for a district-wide solution that is fair for all our district's children, developmentally appropriate for 5th graders, that is inclusive of children of all backgrounds and abilities and with a final goal to desegregate the middle schools of our very diverse district.
